Creative Watercolor Workshop - Whether you have experience or you're an interested beginner, this retreat invites you to explore the magic of watercolor. Begin a wonderful new hobby or expand on your existing skill with a multi-session guided watercolor workshop. With the guidance of professional artist and instructor, Elizabeth Rohrbaugh, you'll learn the basics of how to work with the medium (it's not as difficult as you may think!) and create finished pieces to take home.

Workshop Highlights:

  • We'll touch on the basics of water control, watercolor materials, and color mixing, but also allow your individual creative spirit to play as we develop several autumn scenes.

  • We'll experiment with several methods to apply the paint to paper and how to make adjustments during the process.

  • Enjoy hours of painting as you create your own individual watercolors to take home.

  • The small gathering allows for personalized instruction and guidance to ensure a fun and fulfilling experience.

  • All materials will be provided-be sure to bring your creativity and willingness to explore and learn!

A Weekend of Wellness and Connection

Beyond the printmaking workshop, this retreat is about restoring your mind and body. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to unwind with:

  • Optional Morning mindfulness/gentle movement sessions to start the day with intention.

  • Cozy evenings with tea, wine, and good conversation in the inviting common spaces of The Benninghofen House.

Meet our art instructor:

Artist, Instructor, Creative Collaborator

Elizabeth Rohrbaugh is an artist, instructor and creative collaborator from our hometown of Hamilton, Ohio.  In addition to being a successful independent artist, she is also the Founder and President of the Women's Art Club of Hamilton (WACH), and leads the 100 member club in monthly art events and annual dual-venue art shows. While she is predominantly a watercolorist and oil painter, she is interested in many other forms of art making and living creatively is a daily goal.

Elizabeth recently returned from a multi-disciplinary artist residency in France, where she focused on exploring new watercolor paintings and mixed media work. Above that she has a renewed and stronger belief in collaborative artistic community and the creative effects others can have on our work.

Elizabeth is a self taught, multi-disciplinary artist with work in private and commercial collections across the United States. When she is not painting or managing the art club, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her growing family and walking her dog, Josie. She is devoted to living a creative life and sharing the gifts God gave her with others so that they too may experience the richness of creative living.
